Power Monitoring :

This is a simple idea and feature, so i will not complicate it.  If you have a notebook or a UPS (Uninterruptible Power System) for your computer, then if the power goes out, then you can be alerted about it.  Notebooks usually just 'work' right away, UPS systems usually require connecting a datacable and installing software (which most include, but consumers rarely use) for this power monitoring capability.  If you already own a UPS just dig up the box and look for a cable (serial or usb) and cdrom with software  (if cable is serial you can probably just use connect that and configure the UPS from Windows Control Panel.

This is one of those features that is not much on own, but improves your alerting capabilities... Hmm power went out did i forget to pay bill or is there a storm... I guess my X10Dispatcher security is offline since CM15A has no power... and my tivo wont record my show and i may need to reprogram CM15a because i borrowed its backup batteries!
